Union Station was once one of Kansas City [2]’s crown jewels, a bustling depot filled with train passengers. After falling into disrepair in the 1980s, the nation’s first bi-state tax raised enough funds in the 1990s to renovate the building, and it’s now home to Science City [3], H&R Block City Stage, an Amtrak train station, restaurants, and traveling exhibits.
