Created by artist Barnaby Evans, WaterFire is an annual spectacle of water and fire in late October that’s not to be missed. At dusk, more than 55 floating bonfires will be illuminated along Kansas City [3]’s Brush Creek, one at a time, until all are ablaze in a fiery demonstration of public art installation glory.
Evans’ WaterFire originated on the three rivers of Providence, Rhode Island, and remains one of the city’s signature events. In its few years in Kansas City, WaterFire has quickly become a favorite local occurrence, a way to celebrate the fall season and yet another piece to add to a long list of public art installations.
During the show, food and refreshments are available from Plaza restaurants.
