Dancing Eagles Cabin Rental (907/234-7627 summer or 907/360-6363 winter, www.dancingeagles.com [1], late May–early Sept.) has perhaps the finest location in Seldovia [2], with a big deck perched on the water at the entrance to Seldovia Slough. A cabin ($210 d, $40 for each extra guest) sleeps six and includes a kitchen and bath.

Seldovia Seaport Cottages (907/234-7483, www.acsalaska.net/~seaportcottages [3]) has two homey cottages ($125 d) along Seldovia Slough, with kitchens and baths, plus free bikes to tool around town and Wi-Fi to roam the Web. Also available is a spacious three-bedroom home that sleeps four for $150.

Seldovia Rowing Club B&B (907/234-7614, www.seldoviarowingclub.net [4], $135 d) is another fun over-the-water place where the two suites feature a “nautical Victorian” decor, along with private baths and decks. A big breakfast is served.

Seldovia Bayview Suites (907/234-7631 or 800/478-7898, www.alaskaadventurelodge.com [5]) has spacious three-bed suites that sleep six for $159–179, and a four-room apartment with a full kitchen and a living room that sleeps up to 10 for $299. There’s a hot tub on the deck facing the harbor, and the rooms are upstairs over Main Street Market; there is also free Wi-Fi.

Boardwalk Hotel (907/234-7816, www.theseldoviaboardwalkhotel.com [6]) is right on the boat harbor; the back patio is a great place to hang out. Small rooms with double beds cost $144 d, but a better bet are the larger waterside rooms for $154–164 d.

Just down the street is Seldovia Harbor Inn (907/234-1414, www.seldoviaharborinn.com [7], $155–165 d), with three comfy units, each with a kitchen. Two of these open onto a deck with a great harbor view.

Open seasonally, Bridgekeeper’s Inn (907/234-7535, www.thebridgekeepersinn.com [8], $125–135 d) overlooks the bridge across Seldovia Slough. Two nicely furnished guest rooms have queen beds, private baths, and full breakfasts.

Alaska TreeTops Lodge (907/234-6200 summer or 480/767-3535 winter, www.alaskatreetops.com [9]) is a luxurious hilltop lodge with a mix of activities for guests, from kayaking and fishing to bear-viewing. TreeTops is open seasonally and can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests; most guests stay five days or longer.
