Other choices include a half-day trip on the Tsaina River (Class IV, $105) near Thompson Pass [3] and all-day Tonsina River trips (Class III–IV, $165), 80 miles from town. Trips depart from their office at Mile 17 on the Richardson Highway; transport from Valdez [4] is extra. Also ask about longer trips throughout the Copper River Valley [5].
