North of downtown lies the incorporated cities of North Vancouver and West Vancouver, both dramatically sandwiched between the North Shore Range of the Coast Mountains and Burrard Inlet.
The North Shore is accessible from downtown via the Lions Gate Bridge, but the SeaBus, which runs from Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay (adults $3.25 each way), offers a more enjoyable alternative to getting caught in bridge traffic.
At the lively quay, a small information center (to the right as you come out of the SeaBus terminal) dispenses valuable information, and transit buses depart regularly for all the sights listed below.
