Before drivers make it to Charlotte Motor Speedway [2], they race around the track at Concord Motorsport Park. There are two tracks—a 0.5-mile track that is known as the “world’s fastest half-mile tri-oval” and hosts the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series for Hutch/BSR Pro Late Models and Honda Fast & Furious Fours, and a 0.25-mile track where the USAC Ford Focus Midget cars race in the summers.
Nationally ranked drivers like Bobby Labonte, Jeff Purvis, Butch Miller, and Ernie Irvan all got their start driving the tracks at the speedway.
