Renowned artist Sam Bass is proof that it’s possible to turn a passion into a successful career. A longtime NASCAR fan, Bass channeled his passion for the sport into his artwork and became the first officially licensed artist of NASCAR.
He has designed the paint schemes for NASCAR greats like Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, and Jeff Gordon. In 1988, the artwork he designed for the #12 Miller High Life Buick driven by Bobby Allison went straight to the winner’s circle in the Daytona 500. He has also designed countless NASCAR programs for races all over the country.
His gallery, the Sam Bass Gallery, opened in 2000 behind Turn 2 at Charlotte Motor Speedway [2]. It’s the only art gallery dedicated exclusively to the art of NASCAR.
