Once part of the Rockefeller estate, the well-kept 750-acre Rockefeller State Park Preserve (off Rte. 117 near Rte. 9, Mount Pleasant, 914/631-1470, 8 a.m.–dusk, parking $7) is filled with meadows and woodlands, a small lake, and over 14 miles of mostly level carriage and walking paths.
