A few miles south of Katonah [1], where Route 22 meets Routes 121 and 172, is Bedford, another picture-perfect village. Here, pristine white 19th-century homes cluster around a village green, along with a carpenter-Gothic Presbyterian church and the nicely restored 1787 Court House—the oldest public building in Westchester County.
A walking tour of the village is printed on a plaque in front of the Court House. Take the tour and you’ll pass the 1681 Old Burying Ground, a general store, post office, and library that date back to the early 1800s. On Court Road just off the green is a row of shops selling antiques, clothing, and gifts.
