The historic Admiral’s Inn (20 James St., 315/482-2781, $16) features a comfortable bar to one side, several cheery dining rooms to the other. Sandwiches and salads are offered at lunch, while dinner entrées include prime rib and fresh seafood.
The best restaurant in town is the Jacques Cartier Dining Room (17 Holland St., 315/482-9917, www.riveredge.com , $21) in the Riveredge Resort Hotel. On the menu is creative American and French cuisine. The dining room offers fine views of Boldt Castle .
