At the corner of Falls and Lake Streets thunder Ithaca Falls, the last and greatest of the six waterfalls along the mile-long Fall Creek gorge. These “pulpit falls” are closely-spaced rapids created by layers of resistant rock. To reach the site from Ithaca Commons [1]—about a 20-minute walk—head north along Cayuga Street to Falls Street and turn right.
To one side is a small grassy park and a wooded path that leads to a popular fishing hole.
